Joe Baker is a graduate of the University of Akron, with a major in Social Work and an MBA. He began his social services career over 20 years ago working for the Community Drug Board in Akron, Ohio and then moving on to Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). While at DCFS, Joe was a case manager and then later worked as a Social Service Supervisor in the Ongoing Department. This career took him to also work in Atlanta, GA. After returning to Ohio, he worked for Family Counseling Centers where he did individual counseling and facilitated anger management and domestic violence groups for adults and children.
Joe has also worked with private Foster Care and Adoption Agencies providing case management services, recruitment, and training for incoming and current foster care providers. These trainings include recognizing the signs of abuse and neglect, building trusting and effective relationships, stress management, conflict resolution, and diversity trainings. Joe's provides value added workshops to a wide array of Professionals in both public and private agencies, group homes, and schools. Joe is a married father of 3 boys and 2 girls who volunteers his time counseling Youth and Elders in care.
