This introductory level class takes an exploratory view into the world of Autism Spectrum Disorder and how it impacts children. Foster parents will gain a working knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder as it relates to school age children. Discussed are the indicators, social symptoms, communication difficulties, and repetitive behaviors associated with ASD, and strategies for the foster parent to help them understand their role in supporting the autistic child.
