About the Course

This workshop is specifically designed for foster parents to go beyond cultural awareness and develop cultural humility as a fundamental component for ensuring safety, permanency, and well-being for the child in their care.

The course aims to provide an engaging and thought-provoking journey of self-awareness and discovery, enabling participants to create systems, strategies, and actions that support diverse youth in care and contribute to their organization's efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

1. Recognize the concept of cultural humility as a lens for better-supporting youth in foster care.

2. Develop self-awareness of their own cultural biases and assumptions.

3. Cultivate respect, open-mindedness, and a willingness to learn about diversity.
