About the Course
This session focuses on the ethical use of technology and social media in casework practice. Participants will explore how online behavior, digital footprints, and electronic communication can impact client safety, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and public trust. The session examines common cyber ethical dilemmas, including researching clients online, managing social media connections, texting and virtual communication, and balancing personal and professional identities in digital spaces. Participants will learn how boundary violations and blurred roles can unintentionally cause harm, create conflicts of interest, or undermine effective practice. Emphasis is placed on ethical decision-making, self-awareness, and proactive boundary setting to reduce risk.
