About the Course
County workers spend energy all day, often without realizing how much is drained by emotional labor, constant problem-solving, public frustration, crisis response, and the pressure to stay professional no matter what is happening inside. Over time, many feel exhausted physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This virtual lunch and learn introduces the concept of "energy accounts," helping participants understand how professional wellness is shaped by what drains and restores their capacity.
Learning Objectives
1. Identify the four primary energy accounts (physical, emotional, mental, and meaning-based) and recognize how workplace demands affect each one.
2. Examine personal and professional energy drains, deposits, and patterns using an energy audit framework.
3. Apply practical boundary-setting and wellness habits that support professional sustainability, emotional capacity, and long-term engagement in public service.
