From Buddy to Boss: Navigating the Shift to Leadership

About the Course

This microlearning module is designed for new supervisors navigating one of the most challenging transitions in their careers: leading former peers. Participants will explore what it means to shift from individual contributor to leader, moving from "one of the crew" to the person responsible for setting the tone, making decisions, and guiding team performance. The session addresses common struggles such as imposter syndrome, role confusion, and the discomfort of redefining relationships with colleagues who were once friends. Through real-world scenarios and practical frameworks like G.R.I.T., CLEAR, and S.A.Y. IT, participants will learn how to own their new identity with confidence, set boundaries with care, and communicate expectations clearly without sacrificing trust or connection. By the end of this module, new leaders will have the mindset and tools to step into their roles with clarity, courage, and authenticity.
