About the Course
Of the 30,000 adolescents nationwide who age out of foster care each year, 25% become homeless, 56% are unemployed and 27% of males end up in jail (Child Welfare League of America). With a shrinking U.S. job market and global competition for jobs, it is absolutely essential that teens in foster care begin to think about and plan for the world of work as soon as possible. This workshop provides a framework for foster parents to help teens develop S.M.A.R.T. vocational goals for self- sufficiency.
