About the Course
This session focuses on building effective, respectful partnerships with clients who present as angry, hostile, or aggressive. Participants will explore the underlying causes of aggression, including fear, trauma, power imbalances, and past negative experiences, and learn why aggression is often a response rather than a personal attack. The session emphasizes empathy, therapeutic authority, and clear boundaries as tools for maintaining safety while preserving dignity. Participants will learn practical communication and de-escalation strategies that reduce conflict, foster trust, and shift interactions from confrontation to collaboration. Through real-world scenarios and strengths-based approaches, the session equips participants to engage difficult clients in goal-focused teamwork that supports accountability, progress, and long-term outcomes.
